Preowned Wedding Dress Roundup 06/12/12

We know we’ve kept you waiting for a new preowned wedding dress roundup, so we’re going to make it up to you today with some gowns that were worth the wait. We’re crossing our fingers that one of them is meant for you!

1. Paloma Blanca 4162, $800 or best offer/originally $2,250

Okay, so this is not a dress for the meek, but that’s why we love it. You know you’ll have fun strutting around the dance floor with these pleated ruffles along for the ride, and if you pick this one, it’s because you’re fine with all the (good) attention you’re going to get.

2. Mikaella 1406, $800/originally $1,500

This gown is designed with some modern elements (a pretty pleated back and soft folds in the skirt), and the bride went with it by taking out one layer of crinoline to make it a little sleeker and removing the flower detail.

3. Melissa Sweet Petunia, $850/originally $2,390

Our favorite of this week’s roundup, we can see this at a summer wedding (whether it’s in the country or at city hall). The 1950s feel to the fit is more flattering than you’d ever expect, and the tea length is a nice in-between for those who want the glamour of a long dress but the fun of something shorter.

4. Oleg Cassini CWG322, $500/originally $850

The ballgown doesn’t get as much love these days, but we think it should. If for no other reason than your wedding day is one of the only times you can ever wear one (and they’re pretty darn fun to wear). The gorgeous beading at the waist of this dress put us over the edge, just be warned that you’ll need to be 5’4″ or under for a perfect fit.

5. Pronovias Paris, $1,175/originally $1,600

At first glance this dress doesn’t scream summer, but if you think for a minute, you’ll realize there’s a serious mermaid feel to it. It’s sleek and sexy (partially thanks to the silk georgette material) and we love that the asymmetry sets it apart.

One note: As with anything for sale online, it’s important to buy smart. Use a trusted online money service to pay for your dress (PayPal and Escrow.com are good options) or meet the bride in person—with a friend.
