Most of the Marchesa spring 2013 bridal collection has us seriously swooning. It’s romantic, classic and, at the same time, totally creative. Our favorite, the tiered lace trumpet dress with a swooping back and the gentlest ruffles, is both beautiful and versatile (we could picture it being worn for a fantastic farm wedding or downtown at the Fairmont) and may be one of the prettiest gowns we’ve ever seen. For a moment we thought there might not even be a “miss” to the collection, but then we came upon the voluminous ballgown with full-length lace sleeves. We’re sure the intention was to tap into the seemingly never-ending appeal of Kate Middleton’s wedding day choice, but the design seems to have taken a slight turn…in time. Say, 1984? Not to mention that while our hit is incredibly figure flattering, our miss would make any bride look bottom heavy.
