As a little present for you on this ugly grey Monday, we’ve sought out the sweetest, prettiest preowned gowns around, and brought them here in hopes that one is your very own dream dress. Don’t you feel better already?
1. Paloma Blanca 4108, $1,350/originally $2,400
We love the blend of more structured natural silk and ethereal tulle on this dress and they way the one offers just a peek of the offer. Even better, it’s supposedly incredibly comfortable, which we wouldn’t have expected.
2. Jasmine F274, $550/originally $1,750
Goddess gowns have moved past trend status into “here to stay”, so we think they’re a regret-free buy, and this one is a serious bargain since it includes a matching veil (with sparkling silver trim). You also won’t have to worry about skipping your well planned wedding supper since this dress is more forgiving in the waist, and you can enjoy the fun of a train without being dragged down by extra weight.
3. Alvina Valenta 9751, $700/original price not listed
In what may be the best alteration decision we’ve ever seen, this dress lost the ruffle on the top, leaving behind a sleek off-the-shoulder design with a beautiful criss-cross bodice. And, lest you fret the missing ruffles, you still have the layer on the hem, which is more subtle and flattering anyway.
4. Justin Alexander 8558, $1,700/originally $2,000
We know a full lace mermaid-style gown with a sweetheart neckline isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but there are two unique elements to this dress that have us excited. First, it features one of the prettiest sashes we’ve seen (there’s beading, flowers, a gorgeous grey shade), and, second, it’s a type of lace you don’t see very often—one this is heavier and more stand out than, say, Chantilly.
5. Jai 9126, $550/originally $1,100
Finally, to finish of our roundup, we found a tea-length dress that manages to avoid the most common pitfall for such dresses: It’s not boring. Far from it, in fact, with beaded and sequined flowers cascading down the skirt, and soft, swishy layers. The current owner had the solo strap removed for a cleaner look and a little padding added to the bust to make it easier to fill out.
One note: As with anything for sale online, it’s important to buy smart. Use a trusted online money service to pay for your dress (PayPal and Escrow.com are good options) or meet the bride in person—with a friend.
