Nothing kicks off the work week like a little controversy, and we think this edition of “A Hit And A Miss” might do just that.
Our designer du jour is the one-of-a-kind Claire Pettibone, and that very individual style is definitely evident in our Hit, which deviates far from the traditional wedding dress with colour, pattern, and a more earthy flowing cut. Even as we picked it as our favorite of the the fall 2013 Claire Pettibone collection, we were sure we’d have some strong opposition, and while we admit it’s not for everyone, there’s something so wild and flattering about it.
Our Miss also plays with a different wedding gown palette, but while we like the faded spring green, something about the cut and the material seems so much more mother of the bride than it does bride. All of which we could have looked past had it not been for the oddly placed lace flower embellishments. The way they’re stuck on has us instantly thinking of the toilet paper wedding dress game (and we don’t know that this would be the winning team!).
