Preowned Wedding Dress Roundup 11/13/12

{clockwise from top left}

1. Oleg Cassini CWG322, $450/originally $950

We’ve always loved this dress for the way it blends a classic, simple ballgown style with a creative beaded floral detail. It’s also an easier dress to shorten than most.

2. Manuel Mendoza, $1, 700/originally $3,467

Two words: Local designer. Two more words: Convertible skirt. Two final words: cash or email money transfer only (go in person!).

3. Alfred Angelo 207, $600/originally $1,200

An incredibly flattering plus-size gown (20W) that can easily go down or up two sizes.

4. Pure Magnolia, $900/originally $2,900

Another locally designed option, this one with silk flowers, vintage lace, and a bodice sash. Plus, it’s never been worn for a wedding (just a photo shoot).

5. Paloma Blanca 4159, $900/originally $2,600

Not everyone wants to wear white, and this champagne gown is a good alternative, especially for people who get washed out by lighter tones.

One note: As with anything for sale online, it’s important to buy smart. Use a trusted online money service to pay for your dress (PayPal and are good options) or meet the bride in person—with a friend.
