Vancouver Wedding Fair 2013

Wedding Fair Vancouver

If your policy on attending wedding shows is “go big or stay home”, Wedding Fair is the one you don’t want to miss. The show, which takes place January 5th and 6th, features more than 150 exhibitors spread out over two floors (and spanning every category). With enough motivation—and maybe a few cups of coffee—you could easily sort out every element of your wedding at this event alone.

The prizes and gifts that will be given away fit the the “go big” theme too, with a total value of more than $250,000. The highlight of those? The $100,000 Dream Wedding giveaway, which allows you to not only cross everything off your wedding to-do list, but to do it for free, and is open to everyone, even brides not attending the show.

Tickets are less than many Vancouver wedding shows at $20 presale and $25 at the door, and you can make your way to the Westin Bayshore on either Saturday or Sunday (there are fashion shows and prize drawings both days).

Creme De La Creme Grand Wedding Showcase

Another day, another wedding show? Sometimes it feels like it during wedding show season, but the Creme De La Creme Grand Wedding Showcase shouldn’t be ignored. For one thing, it’s the last of the big shows before January, and, for another, it’s kind of fabulous.

Every year, Creme De La Creme features opulence and luxury at its finest, and this year is no different with the its Parisian-leaning Le Rêve theme.

You can expect over-the-top floral arrangements (literally, some are bound to be over the top of your head), swanky tastings, and a haute couture fashion show featuring all the big names (think Vera, Monique, Oscar and more). Basically, expect all things romantic, and know that if you’re a bride who wants to feel like a princess on her wedding day, this is the show you want to go to.

The Creme De La Creme Grand Wedding Showcase will take place this Sunday (November 4th) at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. We’d highly recommend, however, that you time your visit to coincide with the fashion show at one o’clock. You can buy tickets for the event for $45 on the website, and spring for VIP tickets that include an additional evening reception for $85 if you’re feeling like a splurge.

Lovestruck Bridal Show

There are a flurry of wedding shows taking place this fall, but the Lovestruck Bridal Show on October 14th is the one we’re most excited about. What makes Lovestruck different from other shows? It’s seems like a lot of fun, which isn’t always the case with wedding shows (and we would know).

Complete makeovers—up dos, makeup and manicures—will be available for all guests, there’s a cocktail lounge where a small donation to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation will earn you a tray of signature cocktails to sample, and you can visit the moodboard gallery, where you can see boards based on current trends and colors alongside a selection of items that can help you achieve the same look at your own wedding. Or, if you don’t see anything you like, you can make your own moodboard with help. When you work up an appetite with all the entertainment, you can stave off starving with appetizers like white truffle scented mushroom strudel, crispy peking duck, and bacon, rosemary and ementhal quiche.  Continue reading

My Dream Wedding Show

Fall is so close we can feel the chilly temperatures and that means summer, with its numerous nuptials, is practically over, but with the end of wedding season comes other exciting things. Specifically, wedding planning season, when all you brides-to-be get to figure out what you want out for your weddings with the aid of plenty of inspiration (we’ll have you covered) and lots of bridal shows.

Kicking off the months of cooler weather and wedding shows is the brand new My Dream Wedding Show, which will be held at the Shangri La hotel on September 15th, and is the creation of Anca Tantos (owner of Anca’s Bridal). Continue reading
