Vancouver Wedding Fair 2013

Wedding Fair Vancouver

If your policy on attending wedding shows is “go big or stay home”, Wedding Fair is the one you don’t want to miss. The show, which takes place January 5th and 6th, features more than 150 exhibitors spread out over two floors (and spanning every category). With enough motivation—and maybe a few cups of coffee—you could easily sort out every element of your wedding at this event alone.

The prizes and gifts that will be given away fit the the “go big” theme too, with a total value of more than $250,000. The highlight of those? The $100,000 Dream Wedding giveaway, which allows you to not only cross everything off your wedding to-do list, but to do it for free, and is open to everyone, even brides not attending the show.

Tickets are less than many Vancouver wedding shows at $20 presale and $25 at the door, and you can make your way to the Westin Bayshore on either Saturday or Sunday (there are fashion shows and prize drawings both days).

22nd Annual Brock House Wedding Show

The Brock House Wedding Show, now in its 22nd year, is not only the longest running wedding show in our area, it’s one of the most well known (and, in our opinion, one of the very best). And, while it’s definitely got its tried and true components—the fashion show is always one of our favorites—every year DreamGroup Productions, who plans the event, finds some new elements to make it even more interesting than the year before. Vancouver Wedding And Honeymoon Fall Show 2012

Time flies, doesn’t it? It seems like we were just writing about the Vancouver Wedding and Honeymoon Spring Show, and now the Vancouver Wedding and Honeymoon Fall Show is less than two weeks away. But, while it hasn’t felt like that much time has passed, we’re definitely excited to be attending the biannual show again.

Why? Aside from being a place to get great information on all kinds of wedding day things, there’s just something so fun about a show where you can start figuring out your honeymoon. It’s even fun if you’re not actually getting married, making it the very best show to drag your bridal party along to (don’t be mad if they start planning their next vacations).

This season’s show will take place on September 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and feature three fashions shows (at 12:00, 2:00 and 4:00) and will once again feature a Grand Wedding prize, which you can enter to win right here. You can buy tickets for $20 here.

See you there!

Buy From Brides At Fraser Valley Wedding Swap

This weekend you don’t have to hit Craigslist or an online preowned wedding goods website to find some bargains from brides who’ve already been through the process. Instead, you can find your way to the Fraser Valley Wedding Swap and search through the goods in person.

Hosted by a couple of Vancouver wedding vendors, the Fraser Valley Wedding Swap gathers vendors, brides and brides-to-be for a swap meet-style wedding show. You can browse the tables of past brides offering up their wedding items at seriously discounted prices (the founders recommend a 40-50% discount off the original price) and even peruse used gowns in the Dress Booth, where the now-married can sell their wedding dresses through consignment. Two Wedding Events For The Weekend

Feeling like a busy weekend of bridal duties? We have two events you can check out (three, if you’re planning on attending the Blush Bridal Sample Sale).

For dress hunting, head out to Ivory Bridal in Langley and peruse the Alyne Bridal Trunk Show, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm and 11 am to 3 pm, respectively. Continue reading

Party Time

When it comes to Vancouver wedding shows, we’re fans of smaller, more original events (we’re kind of crazy about Indie I Do), and there’s another fun fete-feeling one coming up.

It’s called The Bridal Party, and it’s next Thursday (February the 16th) at Hollyburn Country Club—a swanky spot that could be what you’re looking for in a wedding venue—and admission is absolutely free.  Not just free for you, as the bride, but free for your bridesmaids, friends and family members that are involved with your wedding. In fact, the Bridal Party wedding show is catered toward them too, so they won’t spend the whole night standing behind you looking bored while you check out vendors. Continue reading

Say “I Do” To Something Different at Indie I Do

Depending on what stage you’re at in your wedding planning, it can be hard to believe it could ever get boring, but trust us, eventually you’ll feel like you’ve seen every invitation, dress and guestbook under the sun. And that’s when you’ll want something—anything—that breaks the “traditional wedding” mold.

Enter Indie I Do, Vancouver’s alternative wedding show. Now in its fourth year, Indie I Do features vendors that are truly unique, and just attending is bound to leave you feeling more inspired. Even better, you could come away with a perfect solution to almost any wedding need (thanks to more than 30 vendors): Bling that isn’t boring, bridesmaid dresses that don’t make your maids squeamish, inventive decor, and more.

The Indie I Do show is this Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm at the Heritage Hall on Main Street, and you’ll want to get there early to snag one of the swag bags they’re giving away to the first 30 people through the door. You can buy tickets for a discounted rate here.
